Woodland Hills Repeats as WPIAL Rifle Champs

Woodland Hills High School claimed their second straight district rifle championship and third in the last four years by registering a perfect score of 800 Tuesday afternoon in the 2015 WPIAL Team Rifle Finals at the Dormont-Mt.Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club in Canonsburg.
The team score of 800 (69x) was the second highest score in the WPIAL Team Championship history, just behind the record set by the Wolverines last year of 800 (74x).
Two other schools registered perfect scores as Trinity finished second with a score of 800 (64x) and McGuffey was third with an 800 (56x). 2013 champion Hempfield finished fourth with a score of 799 while Butler (797) and Waynesburg (795) finished fifth and sixth respectively.
The championship is the fifth in school history for the Wolverines after claiming rifle gold in 1992, 1998, 2012 and 2014.
The 2015 WPIAL Individual Rifle Championships will also take place at the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club in Canonsburg on Thursday.
