MONDAY
Baseball
The weather won again last week, so schedules continue to be a mess. Slowly, though, sections are getting back on track as they continue to loathe the weather-permitting asterisks.
Some key games to watch include Norwin (4-2, 3-1) at new No. 1 Hempfield (10-2, 5-0) in Section 2-6A; Franklin Regional (7-2, 5-1) at Gateway (7-1, 6-1) in 3-5A; Thomas Jefferson (4-7, 2-5) at Latrobe (4-5, 3-4) in 3-5A); Greensburg Salem (6-3, 5-2) at No. 2 Freeport (7-0, 7-0) in 1-4A; and Derry (2-8, 1-7) at Deer Lakes (5-4, 2-3 in 1-4A.
Softball
The matchup many have been anticipating will be at Graham-Sobota Field in Latrobe as No. 1 Hempfield (6-1) visits No. 2 Latrobe (6-0) in a rematch of last year's WPIAL Class 6A championship. Hempfield had its 46-game winning streak stopped Sunday by Penn-Trafford, 7-3. The Spartans, however, have won 33 consecutive section games.
• A nonsection game of note has Greensburg Salem (3-6) at Southmoreland (3-3).
TUESDAY
Baseball
Another WPIAL title-game rematch, which was postponed last week, is No. 2 Greensburg Central Catholic (5-2, 5-0) at No. 4 Jeannette (6-1, 4-1) in Section 2-A.
• Franklin Regional hosts first-place No. 2 Laurel Highlands in Section 3-5A.
• Hempfield is scheduled to play a nonsection game at 6A No. 5 Bethel Park.

• Derry at Yough in Section 1-4A is another one to watch.
