Weather again forces WPIAL to postpone some softball championship games

Mother Nature continues to win out over the WPIAL softball finals.
WPIAL officials announced the Class 5A, 4A and 2A championship games scheduled for Thursday at Peterswood Park have been postponed.
West Allegheny will face Connellsville for 5A gold at noon Friday on the turf field at Peters Township High School.
In Class 4A, Mt. Pleasant will play Elizabeth Forward at noon Friday at Latrobe.
Laurel will battle Frazier in the Class 2A final at noon Friday at Trinity High School.
The Class 6A championship between North Allegheny and Hempfield has been moved to 2:15 p.m. Thursday on the turf field at Peters Township High School.
The Class 3A title game, where Avonworth led Keystone Oaks, 8-0, in the top of the fifth inning Wednesday, was completed on the turf field Thursday morning at Peters Township. Avonworth won the game 12-0.
