Three teams in the smaller classifications lost their spot in the weekly Trib HSSN state softball rankings from a week ago as the top teams get sharp in preparing for the upcoming district playoffs.

Westmont-Hilltop, South Huntingdon County and West Greene dropped out of the Top 5 for now, replaced in 3A, 2A and A by Bald Eagle, Bristol and Holy Cross.

While those changes took place in the lower classes, there were a couple of changes at the top in the two biggest classifications.

South Western returned to the top in 6A and Central Mountain is on top of the mountain for now in 5A as both Cumberland Valley and Marple Newtown slipped to No. 3 in this week’s rankings.

The rest of the top-ranked teams remained the same with Northwestern Lehigh in 4A, Sharon in 3A, Neshannock in 2A and Carmichaels in A still at No. 1.
