The PIAA softball playoffs have reached the final four with two rounds in the books that caused many changes to the weekly Trib HSSN state softball rankings.
There are 13 softball teams that were not ranked in the state Top 5 last week that have earned their spot in the PIAA semifinals with two victories last week.
Class 6A and 3A led the way with three changes each while the flip side saw Class 5A with the fewest changes from a week ago with one new team in this week’s rankings.
South Western in 5A, Blue Mountain in 4A and Neshannock in 2A remained at No. 1 as they head into the final week of the 2024 season, while Central Dauphin in 6A, Sharon in 3A and DuBois Central Catholic in A are the new top-ranked teams this week.
In the district count heading into the state semifinals, the WPIAL has six teams remaining, although four of them square off Monday. District 1 and 6 have three teams left.
