This past week was the opening of the playoffs for some districts while the curtain goes up on some of the other district postseasons this upcoming week.
Either way, there were some changes to the Trib HSSN baseball state rankings two weeks before the PIAA playoffs get underway.
Four teams, two from the highest classification, stubbed their toes and dropped from the weekly top 5.
Out for now are McDowell and LaSalle College from 6A, Slippery Rock from 3A and Burgettstown in 2A, replaced by Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast, Bethlehem Liberty, Warrior Run and Neshannock.
There was one change at the top and it came in the smallest classification as Northern Cambria bumped Southern Fulton from No. 1 to No. 2.
The other five top-ranked teams from a week ago remain the same with Landisville Hempfield in 6A, Radnor in 5A, East Pennsboro in 4A, Avonworth in 3A and Faith Christian in 2A still at No. 1.
