Unlike the girls rankings this week, there were plenty of change on the boys side as January concludes and the “stretch run” begins.

Six teams were bounced from the weekly Trib HSSN boys basketball state rankings, with two teams each dropping out in Class 5A and 4A.

Hershey, Unionville, Uniontown, Sharon, Executive Education Academy and Lancaster Mennonite suffered losses last week that forced them to exit stage left.

However, one door closes and another opened for Mechanicsburg, Moon, Archbishop Carroll, Hampton, Taylor Riverside and Mahanoy Area to burst into the state top 5.

There was also one change at No. 1 as undefeated Troy from District 4 takes over the top spot in Class 3A from Bishop Guilfoyle.

The other five top-ranked teams remained in place with Lower Merion in 6A, Imhotep Charter in 5A, Neumann-Goretti in 4A, Constitution in 2A and Imani Christian in A still at No. 1.
