A band of storms that hit parts of the district last Friday resurfaced the term “no contest” on the tongues of many in Week 1 of the high school football season.

Several games had already started when the storms hit, forcing stoppages and then cancellations, including the much-anticipated battle of champions between Belle Vernon and Aliquippa.

Three Trib 10 teams had games suspended last week, while five others were victorious.

The lone loss came in a head-to-head battle of power ranked teams as Pine-Richland came back to knock off Central Catholic.

Most of the Trib 10 teams face a stiff nonconference challenge in Week 2, although there are no head-to-head contests this week.

Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
