Section play continued throughout the WPIAL basketball landscape and with it came some outcomes that shuffled the deck a bit in the boys and girls hoops power rankings this week.

There already is a new No. 1 team on the girls side as undefeated Oakland Catholic replaces North Allegheny.

The Tigers lost a Section 1-6A contest to Norwin. However, the Knights stay at No. 2 after losing to Wheeling Park in a nonsection matchup two days later.

All 10 teams remain the same on the girls side even with Greensburg Central Catholic losing twice. Both losses came against ranked teams from higher classifications in North Catholic and Oakland Catholic.

In the boys Trib 10, there was no change at the top; however, one team was ousted and one new team has joined the weekly rankings.

Two losses drops New Castle out of the power rankings for now, replaced by a Franklin Regional team that has won 11 of its 12 games.

Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings. Teams are listed with overall records and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
