The elite district baseball and softball teams took different courses to the same result this past week with nine of the 10 teams from the latest Trib 10 keeping their spot in the power rankings.

Only a few of the top district baseball teams went unscathed this past week, leading to the belief that there is great balance within WPIAL baseball.

Only North Allegheny losing three straight cost the Tigers their spot as they were replaced by surging Fox Chapel.

Meanwhile, the elite district softball teams just kept stacking wins.

Only Shaler slipped out, replaced by the team that beat the Titans in a 5A slugfest, Franklin Regional.

The two top teams remain the same as Pine-Richland continues to sit stop the baseball power rankings and unbeaten Hempfield is back on top for a second straight week in softball.

Here are the latest power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
