Black Friday may have been great for local consumers, but it turned out to be a bad ending to a golden season for four district champions.

The state semifinals were the end of the line for WPIAL winners Pine-Richland in 5A, Thomas Jefferson in 4A, South Park in 2A and Fort Cherry in A.

The news was not all bad for District 7, as Avonworth won Friday to advance to the PIAA Class 3A title game and Central Catholic was victorious Saturday to earn a trip to the state Class 6A championship game.

With their win, the Vikings become the fifth WPIAL team to hold the top spot in the power rankings this season, joining Aliquippa, Pine-Richland, Upper St. Clair and Thomas Jefferson.

Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
