Thomas Jefferson’s Palmer picked to play in Big 33 Football Classic

Noah Palmer has enjoyed a highly decorated postseason as a senior member of the Thomas Jefferson football program.

His most recent honor was being named to play in the 61st annual Big 33 Football Classic, to be held June 16 at Central Dauphin School District's Landis Field near Harrisburg.

Palmer is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end/defensive end, and a Pitt recruit.

He is one of 11 WPIAL players chosen to represent the Pennsylvania team in the all-star game, and will play defensive end.

“At first, I was definitely shocked,” Palmer said. “Then I realized how much of an honor it is to be selected to play in this very prestigious game.”

Palmer also participated in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl held earlier this year at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Raymond James Stadium.

He was named a team captain for the game, which was televised by ESPN3, and was credited with three tackles and two sacks. For his efforts, he was presented with the defensive MVP award.

Palmer was a first-team all-conference selection at defensive end, and second-team all-conference pick at tight end in 2017.

He was a two-year starter, two-year all-conference selection, and three-year letterman with the Jaguars.

“I feel like I accomplished a lot of big things during my career at TJ, and I can't wait to see what I can do at Pitt,” Palmer said. “I want to give thanks to all my coaches over the past four years, and my trainer. They made me the player and person I am today.”

Palmer also competed in basketball at TJ, and is a member of the National Honor Society. He plans to major in business or engineering at Pitt.

He joins an impressive list of players in TJ football history who have been chosen to participate in the Big 33 Football Classic. They are:
