Matt Sieg ran for 363 yards and six touchdowns and threw for 38 yards and a TD to lead Fort Cherry to a 48-34 victory over Burgettstown (6-3, 5-2) in the Class A Black Hills Conference on Friday night.

Fox Chapel’s George Tabor had 12 goals in the regular season.

We Serve First Foundation to host inaugural girls volleyball all-star event

Area high school girls volleyball seniors, and the game itself, will be celebrated Dec. 10 as the inaugural We Serve First All-Star Classic will be at Kiski Area High School.

Springdale trailed Northgate, 37-13, in the fourth quarter after the Dynamos notched their second touchdown. The lead was more or less insurmountable, but Springdale was poised to make history.

Burrell’s Tom Brown scored on a 5-yard run with 4:30 to go and booted the subsequent extra point to give the Bucs a hard-fought, 14-13 victory at Knoch on Oct. 25, 1982. Brown later played for Pitt and the Dolphins.
