There were players who put up bigger numbers on Friday none, but none that made more of an impact for their team than these players, whose clutch performance helped their teams clinch a ride on the Highway to Heinz.

When it comes to records, maybe its time to stop thinking about Rushel Shell in a WPIAL sense. Maybe its time to look at the entire state. Shell, Hopewells wonderful junior running back, ran for 193 yards against West Allegheny in a 34-31 overtime win last night. That gave him 6,358 yards for his career.

2010 WPIAL Schedules: Boys Cross-Country

Can you say Five-Peat? That is what the Tigers of North Allegheny accomplished last fall in winning their fifth straight WPIAL AAA Boys Cross Country Championship. The Tigers finished with 92 points followed by Baldwin with 109 then North Hills with 158 then Plum with 196. In the Class AAA individual competition, North Allegheny's Ryan Gil placed first with a 15:30.

2010 WPIAL Schedules: Girls Tennis
August 15, 2010
Last fall, Ronit Yurovsky of Plum and Tanya Timko of Chartiers-Houston captured WPIAL Girls Singles Tennis titles while Olivia Heim and Taylor Perz of Pine-Richland and Susie Soltis and Madeline Leo of Greensburg Central Catholic captured WPIAL Girls Doubles Tennis Gold. In Girls Team Tennis, Peters Township and Sewickley Academy were crowned WPIAL champions in 2009.
