The most painful loss for a WPIAL high school football player could be losing a Semifinals game. Sure, it stinks to lose in a title game, but the lasting memories of just playing at Heinz Field in a District 7 championship contest makes the pain easier to deal with. There is no such feeling when you fall on Semifinals Friday.

Running for 4,000 career yards isn't as rare as it used to be. Forty-seven players have done it in WPIAL history, and 40 of them have reached the mark since 1990.
But when North Allegheny's Alex Papson reached 4,000 yards last week, it was a rare feat, at least when you consider the competition.

Ryan Gil and NA Teammates Golden in PIAA Cross-Country Championships

It was a golden Saturday for both Ryan Gil, who won the 2010 Boys Class AAA Individual cross-country race while his North Allegheny teammates finished first in the boys team standings at the Parkview Course in Hershey.
