Here are the Top Five teams in the PIHL's Class AAA, Class AA, Class A and Open Class for the Week of November 5th. MSA Sports will unveil a new Fab Five every Wednesday during the high school hockey regular season only at MSAsports.net. CTK 2012 – WPIAL AAA Greater Allegheny Conference Preview

It’s not a complete facelift for the Greater Allegheny Conference, but the conference sure looks a lot different this season.
With the WPIAL’s realignment, the Greater Allegheny got bigger overall and added a little Keystone Conference flavor. What happened to the Greater Allegheny Conference is basically a two-fold thing:
1. Kittanning and Valley dropped out of the conference and moved down to Class AA.
2. Derry, Franklin Regional, Greensburg Salem and Hollidaysburg all were moved out of the Keystone and into the Greater Allegheny. The much-maligned Keystone Conference is no more.
As for the Greater Allegheny race, it seems just about everybody is picking Franklin Regional as the team to beat.

2012 MSA SPORTS DIAMOND DOLLS SOFTBALL ALL-STARS

Since the pitching rubber for girls softball was moved back a few feet last season, pitchers don’t dominate to the same extent in this sport.
But pitchers still dominate this year’s MSA Sports Diamond Dolls all-star team.
The team is made up of the top 10 players in the WPIAL, regardless of position. It is picked by the MSA Sports staff. This year’s all-star team is made up of eight pitchers. Two of the eight pitchers won WPIAL championships.
Here is a look at this 2012 Diamond Dolls.

WPIAL Baseball and Softball Consolation Recaps
May 30, 2012
In the midst of all of the WPIAL baseball and softball championship games are five contests on Wednesday with the postseason future of ten district teams up for grabs. Three softball consolation games at California University of Pennsylvania and a pair of baseball consolation games at the Washington & Jefferson Sports Complex were broadcast on The Network with the five winners earning a berth in the PIAA state playoffs that begin next week.
