Butler high jumper Sami Taoufik started his TSTCA indoor track season Saturday with an early-season victory that has him ranked second nationally.

WPIAL athletes shine at 1st Tri-State Coaches indoor meet

Temperatures outside were cold Saturday, but inside at the Edinboro’s Sports and Recreation Center, competition quickly heated up as some of the top track and field athletes in the region gathered for the season’s first Tri-State Track Coaches Association meet.

Struggling Butler football program leaving WPIAL for independent schedule

Tanner Mathos scored 20 points as Lincoln Park pulled away in the second quarter and defeated Butler 74-60 in a marquee boys basketball matchup Friday night at the CJ Betters tournament at the Golden Dome in Monaca.

Devin Carney scored 24 points and Ethan Morton added 21 as top-ranked Butler (5-1, 1-0) defeated North Allegheny, 61-51, in a Section 1-6A boys basketball opener Friday night. Grant Timmerson led North Allegheny (4-3, 0-1) with 19 points.
