On the way to his first three individual WPIAL titles, Burrell’s Ian Oswalt might have been one of the most motivated wrestlers in the WPIAL. It showed, as the Bucs’ 138-pounder won at least 45 matches in each of his first three seasons and was on the brink of capturing his first PIAA title as a junior last winter.

Trib HSSN Wrestler of the Week: Waynesburg’s Wyatt Henson
On the way to Waynesburg’s second straight WPIAL Class AAA championship, the school’s seventh overall, 145-pounder Wyatt Henson put on a show. He picked up three pins and also defeated North Allegheny’s Max Stedeford, who is No. 4 in Trib HSSN’s Class AAA 145-pound rankings, by a 9-3 decision in Waynesburg’s semifinal match on Wednesday.

The No. 1 Burrell Bucs have won 45 consecutive matches in the WPIAL playoffs, and for the 15th year in a row, they were crowned WPIAL Class AA champions this past Saturday with a 38-18 victory over the Burgettstown Blue Devils. They did so in convincing fashion.
