Demolition crews work tearing down the former Washington Township Elementary School in the Kiski Area School District on Feb. 15. The school is being demolished to make way for an 11-acre lot. Township officials granted at demolition permit Jan. 3 to Tresco Companies of Salem Township. The school opened in 1927 and closed in 2013. The site is located at 4728 Route 66 in Washington Township.
