With less than two weeks of regular season games left in the major classifications, now seems an appropriate time to take one final snapshot of the current playoff field before all is decided.

WPIAL Class AA Individual Wrestling Sectional Results 2011

The WPIAL held its individual wrestling sectionals in Class AA on Saturday to set the field for the district championships this upcoming weekend. Here are the results from all three sections with the top five wrestlers in each weight class qualifying for the 2011 WPIAL Class AA Individual Wrestling Championships this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

North Allegheny Wins WPIAL Gymnastics Gold Again

North Allegheny continued its domination in district girls gymanstics Saturday at Moon High School. The Tigers captured a third consecutive WPIAL gymnastics championship and their sixth crown in the last eight years. In 30 years of team titles in the WPIAL, North Allegheny has now won gold 19 times. Here are the individual winners from the 2011 WPIAL Girls Gymnastics Championships.

Opening weekend of the Battle to the Bluff, the 2011 edition of the WPIAL Basketball Playoffs continued with plenty of Saturday afternoon action. Preliminary and First Round action in Boys AAAA, Boys AA, Girls AAA and Girls A helped end the first two days of the district postseason. McGuffey’s John Hupp on the Mark in Winning WPIAL Individual Rifle Title

A new champion was crowned Thursday in the 2011 WPIAL Individual Rifle Championships at the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club in Canonsburg. McGuffey senior John Hupp bested the rest of the field to win his first district shooting championship.

WPIAL Basketball Playoff Recaps for Friday, February 18th

The curtain lifted Friday night on a new Battle to the Bluff, the 2011 edition of the WPIAL Basketball Playoffs. WPIAL POSTPONES TUESDAY BASKETBALL PLAYOFF GAMES

The WPIAL has pulled the plug on a busy night of 20 district basketball playoff games because of the snow/ice storm that hit Western Pennsylvania Monday evening. Here is the statement issued Tuesday morning by the WPIAL.

Mount Lebanon in AAAA, New Castle in AAA, Jeannette in AA and Vincentian Academy in A are all set to try to successfully defend their crowns. Trinity Bags WPIAL Team Rifle Crown

After finishing as runner-up a year ago, the Trinity Hillers are celebrating the schools 17th title after winning the 2011 WPIAL Team Rifle Championship on Tuesday at the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club in Canonsburg.

Central Dauphin and Bethlehem Catholic Win 2011 PIAA Team Wrestling Championships

District 3 Central Dauphin is now celebrating a 3-peat after winning the 2011 PIAA Team Wrestling Class AAA championship in Hershey Saturday afternoon. In the Class AA finals, District 10 champion Fort LeBoeuf failed to repeat as the Bison made it to the finals before losing to Bethlehem Catholic Saturday at the GIANT Center. It was the Golden Hakws first ever state title.

The Woodland Hills boys basketball team is headed to the WPIAL playoffs for the first time in 11 years. If you watch the Wolverines in the playoffs, you'll see some North Allegheny in them.
