Different strokes for different folks. Some of the top performers from Friday night in Week Eight helped their teams stay alive for a conference title…others helped their teams solidify a district playoff berth…while others stayed alive for a drive on the Highway to Heinz.

Week 8 WPIAL/Pittsburgh City League Saturday Football Scores

Four WPIAL football games and one Pittsburgh City League non-conference contest closed a chilly curtain on the next to the last weekend of the regular season. Two teams clinched conference championships while another ceased a playoff berth in the four afternoon games and one evening matchup, three of which were heard here on the MSA Sports Network.

2011 WPIAL BOYS SOCCER PLAYOFFS – 10/19

The brackets are out for the 2011 WPIAL Boys Soccer Playoffs that begin on Monday, October 24th and continue through to the finals on Supper Soccer Saturday on 11/5/11.

2011 WPIAL GIRLS SOCCER PLAYOFFS – 10/19

The brackets are out for the 2011 WPIAL Girls Soccer Playoffs that begin on Saturday, October 22nd and continue through to the finals on Supper Soccer Saturday on 11/5/11. Peters Township in AAA, Mars in AA and Shady Side Academy in A are the three defending champions and two of those three are top-seeds this year as well.

Peters Township and Sewickley Academy Back on Top of WPIAL Girls Team Tennis

Four great WPIAL girls team tennis programs continue to go back and forth like a good volley in winning district gold. In Class AAA, Shady Side Academy won back-to-back WPIAL titles in 2007 and 2008 before Peters Township snapped that golden streak by winning the 2009 championship.
