Southern Columbia claims 8th PIAA championship

Southern Columbia captured its state-record eighth PIAA football championship Friday afternoon with a 48-0 victory over Wilmington in the Class 2A final at Hersheypark Stadium.

Stone Hollenbach completed 13 of 16 passes for 142 yards and three scores, one each to Julian Fleming, Gaige Garcia and Preston Zachman.

Garcia also ran for 154 yards and a touchdown for Southern Columbia (16-0), which held District 10 champion Wilmington (14-1) to 104 yards.
