Quaker Valley Wins Boys AA Crown in Dramatic 2OT Triumph Over Mars

The Quaker Valley Quakers won in dramatic fashion scoring with 4.2 seconds left in double overtime defeating the Mars Planets to win the WPIAL AA soccer championship. 

Mars would strike first in the 17th minute when Spencer Posey fed a long pass down the left side to Matt White who corralled it and struck from 30 yards out just inside the post for a 1-0 lead. 

Quaker Valley would tie the game in the 31st minute when Levi Bowers headed in a rebound. 

In the 1st overtime Quaker Valley had 2 great chances to win but a shot by Matt Rodgers would hit the crossbar and Levi Bowers shot just went over the goal. 

Quaker Valley would continue the pressure and finally won it in the second overtime sophomore Adam Richert took control of the ball of a Mars defender and beat Mars goalie Joe Kelly from about 20 yards out. 

Both teams will continue there season on Tuesday November 6th when the PIAA playoffs start. 

Quaker Valley will take on the 2nd place team from District 10 while Mars will face either the District 5 or 9 champion.
