Olympian Lauryn Williams, a Rochester native who won medals in both the Summer and Winter Games, is among 11 inductees set to enter the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame this month.

Also chosen were Hopewell’s Nate Guenin (hockey), Center’s Tom Hays (broadcasting), Riverside’s Chuck Kotuby (coaching), Rochester’s James Law (track), Monaca’s Sam Lofaso (coaching), South Side’s Sean McCune (football), Center’s John Michael (broadcasting), Aliquippa’s Michael “Butch” Rebich (sports media), Freedom’s Nick Sabol (golf) and Ambridge’s Kim Tirik (basketball).

The induction banquet is April 28 at The Fez in Hopewell.

Williams was a state track champion at Rochester, an NCAA champion at Miami and only the fifth athlete in Olympic history to medal in both the Summer and Winter Games.

She won a silver medal in the 100 meters at the 2004 Summer Games and added another silver in the two-woman bobsled at the 2014 Winter Games. Her 400-meter relay team won gold at the 2012 Olympics. She didn’t compete in the finals but did run in the preliminaries that year.
