Norwin’s Walker to have shoulder surgery

Norwin sophomore Jayden Walker won’t be pitching anytime soon.
The 6-foot-3 left-hander will have surgery to repair a torn left labrum after the season in June.
Walker was supposed to be one of Norwin’s top pitchers this season.
He won’t be able to pitch for six to eight months while rehabbing the shoulder.
Walker said he injured the shoulder last summer and it progressively got worse. He hasn’t pitched for the high school team this season.
“It’s a minor setback,” Walker said. “I’ll miss summer ball.”
This is the third consecutive season one of Norwin’s top pitchers has missed the season with an injury. Chad Coles missed the 2017 season and Chris Wallace missed the 2018 campaign.
“He’ll get the surgery and come back strong for his junior and senior seasons,” Norwin coach Mike Liebdzinski said. “Hopefully, he’ll be ready to go and be a dominant pitcher for us.”
