Norwin's Brock Dieter only attempted 17 passes last season, but that did not stop him from making inroads to Division I football.
Dieter used Super Bowl Sunday to announce he accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Duquesne.
A 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior, Dieter threw for 54 yards and rushed for 99 yards last season playing behind sophomore Jack Salopek, but remained a team leader and also was a first-team all-Southeastern Conference punter.
As a junior, Dieter completed 94 of 160 passes for 1,494 yards and 18 touchdowns. He threw for 1,555 yards in his career.
He is eager to get an opportunity to play under center again.
“I look to bring a positive attitude and work hard every day to push myself and my teammates,” Dieter said.
Dieter also considered Edinboro, Wooster and Washington & Jefferson.
