North Allegheny’s Ayden Owens, who won PIAA titles in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, was named Pennsylvania’s Gatorade Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

The Southern Cal recruit won two state gold medals and a silver in the long jump last month at the PIAA championship in Shippensburg. He bettered his own PIAA meet record in the 110 hurdles.

Earlier this month, Owens also won the 110 hurdles at the Brooks PR Invitational in Shoreline, Wash.

Gatorade named Berwick thrower Payden Montana as the state’s top girls athlete.
