WPIAL football drew national attention Thursday when the NFL Network revealed its “Football Town” feature on North Allegheny and Western Pennsylvania’s high school football tradition.

Cameras shadowed NA’s football team for two days in September as the Tigers prepared for rival Central Catholic. The video includes interviews with coach Art Walker and his assistants, athletic director Bob Bozzuto, a number of NA players and several famous parents with NFL ties.

“Friday nights are special here,” says former Steelers player Chris Hoke, who has two sons, Cade and Nathan, on the NA roster. “When you talk about these players, these coaches and these teams, there’s a lot of tradition.”

Sons of Joey Porter and Jason Gildon also play for North Allegheny.
