Only three high school football games were played in the WPIAL on the second Saturday of the 2010 season, but like the airshow, there were plenty of highlights from the light schedule.
Christian Brumbaugh – South Fayette
South Fayette was able to do damage through the air in their Class AA non-conference game at Thee Summit Academy. Christian Brumbaugh was 13 of 22 passing for 137 yards with three touchdown tosses and a scoring plunge in the Lions 50-22 rout of the Knights.
Jeff Davis – South Fayette
South Fayette was able to do damage on the ground as well in their Class AA non-conference game at Thee Summit Academy. Jeff Davis rushed for 117 yards and scored on touchdown runs of 6 and 31 yards as the 3rd-ranked Lions rolled big past the Knights.
Zach Barnes – Washington
This non-conference Class AA contest between Washingtno and Apollo-Ridge was played at the neutral site of Lecchburg High School. Didn't matter where the game was played to Wash High's Zach Barnes, who rushed for 144 yards and scored touchdowns on runs of 5 and 15-yards as the Little Prexies beat up the Vikings 41-25.
Bishop Canevin Crusaders Offense
The Bishop Canevin 'O" racked up 402 total yards and 54 points with five different players scoring touchdowns including three scores from Bruce Maloney and a pair of touchdowns from the combo Matt Butter to Bobby Gustine.
Bishop Canevin Crusaders Defense
The Bishop Canevin 'D' held Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to MINUS 42 yards in total offense to ruin the Chargers first ever home game as the Crusaders rolled to a 54-0 whitewash of OLSH.
