Buffalo had two football players with Western Pennsylvania roots last season, but the Bulls coaches spent this week trying to boost that number.

Seven WPIAL juniors announced scholarship offers from coach Lance Leipold’s staff in the past three days: Central Catholic’s A’meer and A’maar Allen, Gateway’s Tui Brown, McKeesport’s Daemontae Diggs, North Allegheny’s Jake Lugg, Woodland Hills’ Joshua Rawlings and Penn Hills’ Aakeem Snell.

Former North Catholic linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green, who transferred out of state in February, also announced an offer.

Buffalo went 10-4 overall last season, 7-1 in the Mid-American and lost by one point to Northern Illinois in the conference championship.

The FBS offer was the first for Diggs, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound wide receiver who also starred for McKeesport’s basketball team. His first FCS offer came from Youngstown State in February.

Rawlings, a 6-6, 235-pound tight end and defensive end, holds the most college offers among this group. His list has topped two dozen schools including Pitt and Syracuse.

The Allens are twin brothers and defensive linemen with a dozen Division I offers each. A’meer Allen lists at 6-4, 270. A’maar Allen is 6-3, 250.

Snell (6-2, 185) played safety for Penn Hills’ state championship defense last fall. Buffalo was his sixth FBS offer, all from the MAC.

Brown is a 6-3, 205-pound linebacker. He now has eight D1 offers with six from the MAC.

Lugg (6-4, 275), who now lists six FBS or FCS offers, is the younger brother of Notre Dame lineman Josh Lugg.

Buffalo’s roster last season included redshirt-freshman Tim Terry Jr. from Central Catholic and senior Adam Mitcheson from Kiski Area.
