Just days into the 2024 WPIAL boys volleyball season, there’s been a shakeup at the top of the Class 2A rankings, released Monday morning by the Western Pa. Volleyball Coaches Association.

Mars moved into the top spot, followed by Latrobe at No. 2, as preseason No. 1 North Catholic dropped down to third. Also in Class 2A, Thomas Jefferson and Seton LaSalle swapped spots as the Jaguars moved into fifth and South Fayette and Montour switched spots with the Lions bumping up to ninth.

In Class 3A, Norwin moved up to third, while Seneca Valley dropped down to fourth and Central Catholic replaced Moon in 10th.

Each of the 39 head coaches have the opportunity to vote for the top-10 team rankings.

The players of the week in each classification are selected by the association based on coaches’ nominations.
