Angela Franke’s brief tenure as athletic director at Leechburg has come to a close.

Her last day in the position was Friday, high school principal Doug Rodgers confirmed.

Rodgers said he believes Franke is leaving for a full-time athletic director position in eastern Pennsylvania.

The Leechburg AD job is part time.

Franke did not respond to a request for comment.

Rodgers said that over the next couple of weeks, it will take a village to make sure the athletic department, including the coaches and athletes involved in fall sports seasons, continues to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

“We will have to work together to give the kids the best athletic experience possible,” he said.

Rodgers said he will fill in on a week-to-week basis until a new AD is named.

He hopes the process begins soon but did not give a date when a new AD will be in place.

Franke was hired at Leechburg in August, taking over the athletic director position after the resignation of then-AD Andre Carter.

Carter remains with Blue Devils athletics as the girls basketball coach.

Before coming to Leechburg, Franke served two years as Woodland Hills athletic director through the end of the 2022-23 school year in late May.

She came to Western Pennsylvania after holding several coaching and athletic administration roles at the high school and collegiate levels.
