James helps Fox Chapel tennis to 7-0 start

After a successful freshman year that saw Fox Chapel sophomore Charlotte James team up to win the WPIAL and PIAA doubles championships with Amanda Nord, she is picking up right where she left off.

She is undefeated in singles as the Foxes have gotten off to a 7-0 start. Here's a closer look at James, this week's Herald spotlight athlete:

On average, how many text messages do you send and receive every day?

Maybe 20.

What part of your game would you like to improve?

I'd like to make my forehand more of a weapon and also improve my drop shot.

Who's your favorite Pittsburgh athlete?

Roger Federer.

What three items have to be in your refrigerator?

Baby carrots, Greek yogurt and apples.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Hang out with friends, listen to music and watch sports.

What is your favorite TV show?

“The Office.”

What would make up your all-time favorite meal?

Filet mignon, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

What junk food do you have a weakness for?

Ice cream.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?

Sardines.
