Trevor Kovatch and Brandon Yeschenko scored to power Belle Vernon to a 2-1 victory in an early season nonsection matchup of boys soccer undefeated teams Tuesday. Dominic Pireaux recorded his first varsity assist and Chris Howman also had an assist for the Leopards (3-0). Landon Stuart scored for Mt. Pleasant (3-1).

Allderdice 1, Penn-Trafford 1 – Ethan Voight-Cherna scored to help Allderdice (2-1-1, 1-0-1) to a Section 3-3A draw with Penn-Trafford (1-1-1, 0-1-1).

Beaver County Christian 4, Riverside 0 – Robert McMahan scored a pair of goals while Zachary Stephens and Ben Crefeld each netted a goal as Beaver County Christian (2-1) shut out Riverside (0-3) in nonsection play. Ethan Guevara had two assists for the Eagles.

Bentworth 3, Elizabeth Forward 0 – Ryan Moessner had two goals and Adam Moessner added a goal and an assist to power Bentworth (4-0) to a nonsection win over Elizabeth Forward (1-2-1).

Beth-Center 3, Waynesburg 0 – Nekoda Bundy scored twice and Rylan Piper added a goal as Beth-Center (2-0-1) shut out Waynesburg (0-2) in nonsection play. Parker Amos had two assists and Luke Amon kept a clean sheet for the Bulldogs.

Butler 2, West Mifflin 1 (OT) – Thomas Sheptak and Mason Anderson each scored a goal and had an assist to lead Butler (2-1-1) to a nonsection win. Austin Kurta scored for West Mifflin (0-3).

Carlynton 6, Carrick 0 – Hamza Alezzo scored a hat trick, Jusef Sahin added two goals and Mateo Carrasco had four assists to lead Carlynton (3-2) to a nonsection win against Carrick (0-1).

Charleroi 6, McGuffey 4 – Blake Pendo and Dylan Klinger had two goals apiece and Ethan Hartley and Otis McIntyre also scored to lead Charleroi (2-0) to a nonsection win over McGuffey (3-1).

Deer Lakes 2, Fox Chapel 1 – Jacob Orseno and Collin Rodgers each scored as Deer Lakes (3-1) defeated Fox Chapel (2-0-1) in nonsection play. Zane Spence and Peyton Kushon had assists for the Lancers. Sharif Zuriket scored for the Foxes.

East Allegheny 3, Serra Catholic 0 – Nicky Balana had two goals, Colin Goldstein also scored and Ben Maldanado and Kaedan Sabol combined on the shutout to help East Allegheny (2-2) to a nonsection win over Serra Catholic (0-5).

Freeport 3, Armstrong 2 – Angelo Porco scored a pair of goals and Trey Shreckengost added another to lead Freeport (3-0-1) past Armstrong (2-1) in a nonsection match. Dante Treglia had three assists for the Yellowjackets.

Hampton 1, North Hills 0 – Matteo Scuilli scored off a feed from Xavier Ware and Landen Bierker made six saves to preserve a shutout as Hampton (1-0-1) defeated North Hills (3-2) in nonsection play.

Hempfield 4, Derry 2 – Sawyer Leuthold had two goals, Isaac Pugliese also scored and Quentin Pettinato had two assists as Hempfield (1-3) ended a 41-match losing streak with a nonsection victory over Derry (2-3).

Highlands 1, St. Joseph 0 – Cainen McCann had the lone goal as Highlands (2-1) edged St. Joseph (1-3) in a nonsection game. Liam Roberts made seven saves for the Golden Rams.

Montour 3, Ambridge 2 – Andrew Prunier had a pair of goals and Dominic Passaro also scored to lead Montour (5-0, 3-0) to a Section 4-3A win over Ambridge (0-2, 0-2).

Mt. Lebanon 2, South Fayette 0 – Jack O’Brien scored a goal in each half to boost Mt. Lebanon (3-2) past South Fayette (1-2) in a nonsection matchup.

Neshannock 5, South Range (Ohio) 1 – Zayden Herb scored four goals to lead Neshannock (4-0) to a nonsection win. Caeden Turner, Jordan Kosin and Diego Porras had assists.

Peters Township 1, Trinity 1 – Jeven Kelley scored to help Peters Township (2-1-1) to a nonsection draw with Trinity (2-1-1).

Seneca Valley 7, West Allegheny 0 – Owen Eastgate recorded a hat trick, Jacob Prex scored twice and Carson Hankinson and Landon Loya scored a goal each for Seneca Valley (4-1) in a nonsection shutout win against West Allegheny (2-2). Noah Eastgate recorded the shutout, including a stop on a penalty kick.

Springdale 12, Leechburg 0 – Nate Dubas had a hat trick to pace Springdale (2-0) in a nonsection victory over Leechburg (0-5). Patrick Wylly and John Duku added two goals each.

Trinity Christian 2, Greensburg Central Catholic 1 – Luke Schellhase scored both goals for Trinity Christian (2-1) in a nonsection win. Lucca Denis scored for Greensburg Central Catholic (0-1-1).

Woodland Hills 14, McKeesport 0 – Simon Mroz scored four goals, Jude Fossum recorded a hat trick and had six assists and Andrew Bigham and Alphonso Fataki each scored a pair of goals as Woodland Hills (3-1) cruised to a nonsection win over McKeesport (0-4). Robert Felter, Charlie Kodman and Finn Maloney each added a goal for the Wolverines.

Girls soccer

Beaver 6, Chartiers Valley 0 – Mia Furda scored two goals and had an assist to lead Beaver (3-0) in a nonsection win over Chartiers Valley (0-3). Jocelyn Biela, Sydney Chontos, Lilia Battalini and Ana Hahn each netted a goal for the Bobcats.

Bentworth 2, Belle Vernon 0 – Brielle Dillon and Makayla Jackson each scored in the first half as Bentworth (3-0) blanked Belle Vernon (2-3) in nonsection play. Bella Moyer had two assists for the Bearcats.

Carlynton 10, Carrick 1 – Riley Mauro scored a hat trick, Greta Schriver and Kyleigh Yancey each scored a pair of goals and Sophia O’Brien added a goal as Carlynton (3-1) rolled to a nonsection win against Carrick (0-2). Emma Arnold and Quinland Delrosario each netted a goal for the Cougars.

Greensburg Salem 3, Connellsville 1 – Sabrina Kasic, Olivia Smith and Ella Helman scored to power Greensburg Salem (2-2) to a nonsection win over Connellsville (4-2).

Hampton 6, Knoch 1 – Sara Kenst had a pair of goals to lead Hampton (3-1) to a nonsection win over Knoch (0-3-1). Kendal Hoolahan, Sophia Zebrine, Allie Bosetti and Molly Interthal also scored for the Talbots.

South Fayette 6, Oakland Catholic 0 – Emily Sinton had two goals and Mia Deramo, Lyla Tarin, Gabby Beinecke and Emma Ferrari also scored for South Fayette (3-2, 1-0) in a Section 3-3A win over Oakland Catholic (0-3, 0-1).

Southmoreland 2, Keystone Oaks 0 – Aubrey Seder and Gia VanDyke scored and Destiny Auer recorded the shutout to lead Southmoreland (2-2) to a nonsection win over Keystone Oaks (3-2).

Field hockey

Hempfield 4, Allderdice 0 – Olivia Eiseman, Maddie Domasky, Abby Wynert and Katie Moses scored their first goals of the season to lead Hempfield to a nonsection win.

Penn-Trafford 1, Latrobe 0 – Liz Welsh scored the game’s lone goal, assisted by Rilie Moors, to lead Penn-Trafford to a Class 2A win.

Volleyball

Albert Gallatin 3, Uniontown 0 – Mia Myers had 15 assists, six aces and four kills and Leah Myers had six aces and seven kills as Albert Gallatin (1-1) beat Uniontown (0-3) in Section 3-3A. Mitchell Turner had four kills and Mikayla Shea added another five kills for the Colonials.

Beaver 3, Eden Christian 0 – Aubrey Bumblis had 16 digs, Zoe Ringer accumulated 24 assists and Kailyn Connelly and Lanie Malobabich each had 10 kills for Beaver (2-2) in a nonsection win against Eden Christian (3-1).

Blackhawk 3, Union 2 – Maddie Settle had 11 digs, Olivia Benedict had 12 kills and Maggie Joseph chipped in 25 assists for Union (1-1) in a nonsection loss to Blackhawk (3-0). Irelyn Fisher had seven blocks for the Cougars.

Chartiers Valley 4, West Allegheny 1 – Addison Varnish doled out 20 assists, Emerson Kutschbach had 10 digs and Payton Friburger added 14 kills as Chartiers Valley (2-0, 1-0) beat West Allegheny (0-3, 0-1) in Section 1-3A.

Hampton 3, Penn-Trafford 1 – Marin Katona-Bock had 15 kills and 17 digs, Payton Galietti had 24 digs, Lilly Muczinski had 19 assists and Kassidy Thompson added another 15 assists as Hampton (3-0) beat Penn-Trafford (1-2) in a nonsection match.

Jefferson-Morgan 3, Geibel 0 – Emilee Bazzoli had 13 digs, Alisa Long added 10 digs and six kills and Isabelle Bazzoli had seven aces and seven kills to lead Jefferson-Morgan (2-2) to a sweep of Geibel (0-1) in a nonsection match. Alaina McCollum and Leighana Gooden each had nine assists for the Rockets.

Ligonier Valley 3, Greensburg Salem 0 – Marlee Miller had eight kills and Emily Rankin added seven kills to lead Ligonier Valley to a nonsection win. Kya Hegan had recorded eight service points and five assists and Riley Monticue had five kills, 12 service points and 16 assists for the Rams.

McGuffey 3, Brownsville 1 – Payton Evanchak had 11 assists and 11 digs, Skyler Gates had 11 kills and six blocks and Ashley Evanchak had 15 digs for Brownsville (0-3, 0-1) in a loss to McGuffey (3-0, 1-0) in a Section 3-2A match.

Moon 3, South Fayette 1 – Elina Antoniades had five kills, five blocks and 24 assists and Reese Keslar added 11 kills to lead Moon to a Section 1-3A win. Maddie Finnegan recorded 16 digs and Jayla Brown had eight kills.

New Brighton 3, Aliquippa 1 – Chloe Huddy had 12 digs, Sundi Fazio helped out with 11 assists and Alaya McKenzie had seven kills as New Brighton (3-0, 1-0) bested Aliquippa (1-1, 0-1) in Section 1-2A action.

St. Joseph 3, Highlands 2 – Kenzie Jones had nine kills, Elaina Moore added six kills and Jillian Bloch recorded 41 digs to lead St. Joseph to a nonsection win. Kate Giannetta delivered 23 service points and Sofia Quattrocchi added 11 service points for the Spartans.

Girls tennis

Bethel Park 4, South Fayette 1 – Cami Fisher and Mackenzie Smock won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and Kiera Ross pulled out a three-set win at No. 3 to lead Bethel Park to a Section 4-3A victory. Julia Gobbie and Cassie Sierka won at No. 1 doubles for the Black Hawks while Presley Vennom and Natya Dagar picked up a victory at No. 2 doubles for South Fayette.

McGuffey 3, Ringgold 2 – Nina Henderson and Paige Stanek won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Ashlyn Moore and Ava Young won to lead McGuffey to a Section 2-2A victory. Emily Bucchineri won at No. 1 singles and Sofia Vdovichenko and Danica Opalko won their doubles match for Ringgold.

Mt. Pleasant 5, Greensburg Salem 0 – Bella Fullman, Ryleigh Drzal and Kiersten O’Conner won singles matches, respectively while Danica Trainer and Autumn Jurkovic-Kuzma and Ella Alakson and Megan Bullock recorded doubles victories for Mt. Pleasant (5-2, 3-0) in a sweep of Greensburg Salem (1-5, 1-2) in Section 1-2A play.

North Allegheny 5, Mars 0 – Mia Kaufman, Audrey Zheng and Kaitlyn Zeman won singles matches for North Allegheny (5-2, 3-0) and Cynthia Li and Alexa Richey won at No. 1 doubles while Kelly Tai and Ella Mangene won at No. 2 doubles as the Tigers swept Mars (4-3, 2-2) in Section 2-3A.

Penn-Trafford 5, Kiski Area 0 – Mia Williams, Elle LeJeune and Annabelle Aquino at singles and the doubles teams of Mya Kochasic and Amanda Wendler and Kylie McKenzie and Felicity Larson won in straight sets as Penn-Trafford (3-0, 2-0) swept Kiski Area (2-4, 0-3) in Section 1-3A.

Quaker Valley 4, Sewickley Academy 1 – Avery Allan and Jay Olawaiye won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and the doubles teams of Livia Jobbins and Jane Lenhard as well as Parker Barnes and Kate Miller won to lead Quaker Valley to a Section 5-2A win. Sewickley Academy’s Rayna Thakkar won at No. 1 singles when Kirsten Close had to retire.
