Jarod Orwell homered to help No. 3 North Allegheny defeat No. 2 Pine-Richland, 2-0, in a Section 1-6A baseball game Monday night.
Ryan Partridge threw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts to earn the win for the Tigers (13-5, 7-2), which has won six straight games.
Tommy Beam took the loss for Pine-Richland (13-4, 8-1).
Bethel Park 8, Canon-McMillan 0 — Eric Chalus threw a five-hitter with five strikeouts to guide No. 5 Bethel Park (13-3, 9-2) to a Section 3-6A win. Anthony Strangis knocked in three runs for the Black Hawks.
Mt. Lebanon 4, Peters Township 2 — Jeffrey Dengler and Cameron Knox combined on a six-hitter to help Mt. Lebanon (10-9, 6-5) win a Section 3-6A game over the No. 4 Indians (11-6, 8-3).
Moon 7, South Fayette 2 — Cam Goble, Tony Tamillia and Zach Bogats all had two RBIs as Moon (9-6, 4-5) won in Section 2-5A.
Shaler 11, North Hills 0 (5 inn.) — Colton Schott was 3 for 3 with three RBIs to help Shaler (10-6, 5-4) win in Section 2-5A.
Trinity 12, Montour 7 — Brent Kurtz had four RBIs, and Clarence Pomykayla knocked in three runs as Trinity (9-10, 5-6) won in Section 3-5A.
Central Valley 4, Quaker Valley 0 — Anthony Mendocino had two RBIs to help Central Valley (7-6, 6-5) win in Section 2-4A.
North Catholic 9, Beaver Falls 1 — Dom Pretice had three hits, including two doubles, and four RBIs to lead North Catholic (4-10, 4-6) to a Section 2-3A win.
Neshannock 3, Mohawk 0 — Matt DuBois threw a two-hitter with four strikeouts as Neshannock (13-2, 9-1) won in Section 2-2A.
Carlynton 4, Northgate 3 — Evan Staker hit an RBI single to score Dan Schultz in the bottom of the seventh to give Carlynton (6-10, 6-5) a Section 4-2A win.
Penn-Trafford 5, Norwin 4 — Cade Patterson doubled in two runs, and Jordan Sabol had two doubles and an RBI as the No. 1-ranked Warriors clinched the Section 2-6A title.
Mario Disso and Tyler Horvat each had two hits, and Bobby Lane and MacLean Maund had RBIs for Penn-Trafford (15-2, 8-2), which swept the Knights and has won six of its past seven games.
Owen Sabol was 4 for 4 with a home run, and Jayden Walker was 3 for 3 for Norwin (11-6, 5-4), which is in second place with a section game remaining against Latrobe on Wednesday.
Hempfield 10, Latrobe 5 — The Spartans scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and held on for a Section 2-6A win that clinched a playoff spot.
Christian Zilli knocked in three runs, and Reed Hipps, Hunter Eperesi, Phil Fox and Luke Hudson all had two RBIs for Hempfield (10-9, 5-5), which has won four of its past five games.
Connor Mondock was 4 for 4 with two doubles, and Tucker Knupp was 3 for 3 for Latrobe (7-10, 2-7).
Franklin Regional 10, Penn Hills 0 (6 inn.) — Mike Klingensmith threw a three-hitter with six strikeouts to help No. 2 Franklin Regional (14-1, 11-0) capture the Section 1-5A championship. Jake Williams was 3 for 3, and Louie Kegerreis was 3 for 4 with three RBIs for the Panthers.
Yough 5, Derry 1 — Jarett Bach threw a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts as No. 3 Yough (12-5, 10-2) earned at least a share of the Section 1-4A title. Bach also had two doubles and an RBI. Caden Kastronis and Dom Koch each tripled and had an RBI. Josh Ulery took the loss for Derry (6-10, 3-8).
Serra Catholic 6, Jeannette 2 — No. 2 Serra Catholic (16-2, 9-1) scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a Section 3-2A win. Dom DeMoss, Mark Black and Eli Kite all had two RBIs. Michael McCabe and Seth Howard each had two hits for playoff-bound Jeannette (9-7, 5-5).
Monessen 17, Mapletown 0 (5 inn.) — Marcus Tansmore had three hits and four RBIs, and Cam Frolo, Jack Sacco and James Thomas also had three hits and multiple RBIs to lead Monessen (10-5, 9-2) to a Section 2-A win.
St. Joseph 10, Leechburg 0 (5 inn.) — Tyler Wood pitched a one-hit shutout as the Spartans won a Section 3-A game and clinched a WPIAL playoff appearance for the first time since 2000.
Hayden Mallin doubled and drove in three runs for St. Joseph (6-7, 4-5), while Dom Fellowes added a double and two RBIs.
Jake Blumer had the lone hit for Leechburg (6-9, 5-5).
Highlands 9, Indiana 3 — The Golden Rams put two runs on the board in both the first and fifth innings, and senior Noah Gillette hit a bases-clearing double in the sixth as Highlands clinched its first trip to the postseason since 2003 with the Section 1-4A win over Indiana (1-18, 0-11).
The win, plus Knoch’s 10-5 loss to Greensburg Salem, secured Highlands’ postseason trip. Freshman pitcher Tanner Nulph picked up the win for Highlands (10-7, 6-5), striking out three batters and giving up two hits over three innings. Zac Kuniak tripled and knocked in a run for the Rams.
Deer Lakes 6, Valley 3 — Cory Newman’s two-run single in the fourth inning gave Deer Lakes (10-7, 8-2) the lead for good in a Section 1-3A win over Valley. Justin Brannagan and Jake Yaconis both doubled and drove in runs for the Lancers, who snapped a two-game section losing streak. Evan Henry and Cayden Quinn both doubled for Valley (4-7, 3-7), and Ben Aftanas added a pair of singles.
Armstrong 9, Fox Chapel 8 — Zack Streigtif knocked in the go-ahead run with a single in the sixth as Armstrong (8-8, 4-7) rallied from a two-run deficit for a Section 1-5A victory. Matt Jerpe homered and knocked in three runs, and Gavin Donaldson singled twice and added three RBIs for Fox Chapel (9-6, 7-5).
Steel Valley 7, Burrell 6 — The Bucs (9-4, 6-4) led 3-2 after three innings, but the Ironmen pulled away by scoring two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings in a Section 1-3A game.

Canon-McMillan 10, Peters Township 7 — Lindsay Schmidt doubled, tripled and had three RBIs for No. 3 Canon-McMillan (11-4, 10-3) in a Section 1-6A win.
Thomas Jefferson 15, Carrick 0 (3 inn.) — Bella Bucy threw a one-hitter with eight strikeouts as No. 5 Thomas Jefferson (13-3, 9-3) won in Section 2-4A. Mackenzie Alava was 2 for 2 with three RBIs for Thomas Jefferson.
South Allegheny 6, South Park 4 — Aliyah Rotharmel doubled, tripled and had three RBIs as No. 3 South Allegheny (15-2, 9-2) won a Section 3-3A game to claim at least a share of the section title.
Jess Dean hit a two-run home run for No. 4 South Park (12-4, 9-3).
South Side 6, Burgettstown 2 — Sydney Payne hit a two-run home run to help South Side (10-4, 9-3) win in Section 1-2A.
Bishop Canevin 14, Quigley Catholic 11 — Alysha Cutri, Meadow Lokaitis and Hanna DeLisio all had three RBIs to guide Bishop Canevin (6-4, 6-3) to a Section 1-A win.
Frazier 2, West Greene 0 — Juliann Johnson, Emi Curcio and Hayley Somers all had two hits as Class 2A No. 2 Frazier (14-2) won a nonsection game over Class A No. 1 West Greene (14-4). Logan Hartman struck out seven in victory.
Freedom 5, Union 4 — Trisha Speicher hit a two-run home run, and Madison Slowinski had two RBIs as Freedom (13-5) won a nonsection game.
North Allegheny 12, South Fayette 1 (5 inn.) — Kristen Chomos and Rachel Martindale each had three hits and four RBIs to help Class 6A No. 4 North Allegheny (13-5) win a nonsection game.
Waynesburg 2, Ringgold 1 — Rachel Elsenheimer hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to lift Waynesburg (9-8) to a nonsection win.
Hempfield 15, Pine-Richland 0 (4 inn.) — Laura Fox was 3 for 4 with a triple, home run and five RBIs, and Ashley Orischak homered for Hempfield (12-6, 10-4) in a Section 2-6A win. The Spartans clinched a share of the Section 2 title with North Allegheny (13-5, 10-4) and Norwin (11-6, 10-4).
Franklin Regional 6, Latrobe 4 — Kylee O’Neil was 3 for 4 with a home run, and Mallory Hallock, Angalee Beall and Sarah Cowell all had two hits as Franklin Regional (11-6, 10-4) beat Latrobe (11-6, 8-6) in Section 1-5A.
Penn-Trafford 5, Laurel Highlands 2 — Brooke Cleland had two hits, including a home run and two RBIs, as No. 1 Penn-Trafford (16-0, 14-0) won a Section 1-5A game. Carlee Lamacz had two RBIs, and Jess Lichota had two hits, including a solo homer, for the section champion Warriors.
Belle Vernon 10, McKeesport 0 (6 inn.) — Sophia Godzack threw a no-hitter with four strikeouts as Belle Vernon (7-12, 5-7) won in Section 2-4A. Mekenzie Sokol had a double, home run and four RBIs for the Leopards.
Jeannette 4, Springdale 2 — Grace Johnston was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Faith Johnston threw a four-hitter with six strikeouts to lead playoff-bound Jeannette (8-4, 7-4) to a Section 3-A win. Abby Mortimore was 2 for 4 with a double for the Jayhawks.
Albert Gallatin 14, Southmoreland 4 (5 inn.) — Maddy Hershberger was 3 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs as Albert Gallatin (9-7) won a nonsection game. Abby Fullem and Emily Eutsey had two RBIs for Southmoreland (8-6).
Armstrong 9, Greensburg Salem 2 — Winning pitcher Mackenzie Egley had three hits and three RBIs to help Armstrong (3-15) win a nonsection game. Carissa Caldwell and losing pitcher Mattie White each doubled for Greensburg Salem (6-10).
Connellsville 7, Norwin 6 — Kara Hoover and Abby King each had three hits and two RBIs as Connellsville (12-5) won a nonsection game. Victoria Shimko had two hits and two RBIs for Class 6A No. 5 Norwin (11-6). Alexandra Dillner and Sara Russell also had two RBIs for the Knights.
Ligonier Valley 17, Derry 0 (4 inn.) — Jane Garver threw a one-hitter with six strikeouts and also homered to lift Ligonier Valley (14-1) to a nonsection win. Courtney McKlveen also homered in the win.
Plum 9, Freeport 4 — Jillian Durst’s two-run homer during a seven-run sixth inning put Class 5A No. 3 Plum up for good in a nonsection win over Class 3A No. 5 Freeport. Alyssa Schofield also hit a two-run homer for the Mustangs (15-2), who overcame an early 3-0 deficit. Maura Marston’s two-run single tied the score in the sixth. Tori Radvan doubled and homered for Freeport (10-3).
Burrell 10, Kiski Area 6 — Lea Coffman drilled three-run homers in the first and fifth innings, and Charlie Confer added a solo shot in the second as Class 3A No. 2 Burrell rolled past nonsection opponent Kiski Area. Caroline Dynka picked up the win for Burrell (12-2), and Kayla Santucci doubled and added an RBI. Abby King doubled and knocked in two runs, and Kira Brown singled and tallied three RBIs for Kiski Area (2-13).
Highlands 8, Vincentian Academy 2 — Highlands pitcher Jaycee Haidze pitched a complete game, striking out 13 batters, as Highlands knocked off Class 2A No. 1 Vincentian Academy (12-1) in a nonsection matchup. Haidze singled, doubled and knocked in three runs, and Bailey Beacom added a double and two RBIs to lead Highlands (5-8).
Knoch 9, Butler 0 — Class 4A No. 2 Knoch (14-1) pounded out 15 hits, including six for extra bases, in a nonsection romp over Butler. Amanda Fischer, Monica Gourley, Marissa Melius and Bailey Rickenbrode led the attack with three hits apiece; Melius doubled twice, and Fischer and Gourley doubled once apiece. Erin Luffy added a homer, and Brynnae Coe a double for the Knights. Fischer blanked Butler on three hits in six innings of work, striking out five.
Springdale 8, St. Joseph 4 — No. 3 Springdale rallied with a four-run third inning as the Dynamos picked up the Section 3-A win over rival St. Joseph in the second game of a multi-opponent doubleheader. Kaitlyn Thompson doubled, tripled and notched an RBI, and Alexis Hrivnak homered and added two RBIs to pace Springdale (12-3, 9-3). Shelby Gogal got the loss for St. Joseph (4-7, 4-7).
