High school roundup for May 10, 2024: Neshannock gears up for playoffs with win over North Allegheny

Winning pitcher Addy Frye doubled, homered and drove in three runs and struck out nine in seven innings in the circle as Class 2A No. 1 seed Neshannock geared up for the playoffs with a 5-3 nonsection softball win over Class 6A No. 2 seed North Allegheny on Friday.
Gabby Quinn also had two hits, including a home run, and Miley Anderson singled and doubled for the Lancers (19-0). Carlyn Vaupel singled and homered for the Tigers (12-7).
West Allegheny 8, Hampton 0 – Autumn Bielecki threw a six-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, Alaina Pass went 4 for 4 with an RBI and Jenna Nolan slugged a two-run homer to lead West Allegheny (16-3) to a nonsection win. Mackenzie Reese singled and doubled for Hampton (15-4).
Baseball
Penn-Trafford 6, North Allegheny 2 – Jason Sabol singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Ethan Septak had four RBIs for Penn-Trafford in a nonsection win over North Allegheny. Dom Delio threw three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four, to pick up the win for the Warriors (16-3). Nicolas Varlotta singled and homered for the Tigers (14-6).
Seneca Valley 2, Fox Chapel 1 – Nick Parrotto struck out eight in 5⅓ innings to earn the win and Ryan Rebholz pitched 1⅔ scoreless innings of relief to get the save as Seneca Valley (11-8-1) won a nonsection game. Luke Anderton singled and tripled for the Raiders. Franco Pistella singled and doubled for Fox Chapel (14-6).
Shenango 4, New Castle 2 – DJ Graham doubled and drove in two runs and Christian Anterock had a double and an RBI for Shenango (10-9) in a nonsection win. Treyton Ross and Benny Santangelo each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win and save for the Wildcats. JT Warren doubled and knocked in a run and Dominic Miller tripled for New Castle (1-18).
