Zion Moore poured in 25 points as Class 4A No. 2 Belle Vernon defeated Class 2A No. 1 Greensburg Central Catholic, 71-51, in a nonsection boys basketball game Sunday night at the Shootout at Seton Hill.
Trevor Kovatch added 16 points for the Leopards (15-4), who won three games in the past three days. They have won nine straight overall.
Liam Gallagher had 12 points, and Samir Crosby and Brady O’Rourke each scored 11 for the Centurions (14-2), who had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
Allderdice 72, Chartiers Valley 63 — Lukas Stead’s 24 points helped Allderdice earn a victory over Class 5A No. 3 Chartiers Valley at the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Classic at North Allegheny.
Asher Schwartz added 16 points, and Ryan Zuckerbraun had 10 for the Dragons (8-9).
Chartiers Valley (15-3) was led by Jayden Davis (24 points), Julian Semplice (20) and Jake Lewis (10).
Armstrong 47, Burrell 40 — At the Shootout at Seton Hill, Jacob Szep had 13 points, Chase Jablonski added 12 and Jaydon Oliver tallied 10 for Armstrong (5-11) in a victory over Burrell (6-11). Tucker Bitar had 11 points for the Bucs, who fell behind 12-0 in the first quarter.
Central Valley 63, Highlands 29 — Isaiah Jeter had 22 points as Central Valley (14-3) topped Highlands (4-11) at the PBC Classic at Rize Sports Complex. Jeter is eight points shy of 1,000 for his career. Troy Bielak had 10 points for Highlands.
Geibel Catholic 69, Mt. Pleasant 47 — Evan Strimel had 26 points, and Seth Dolan knocked down five 3-pointers and had 17 points as Geibel Catholic (10-7) won at the Shootout at Seton Hill. Kade Hutchinson had 16 points to lead Mt. Pleasant (0-18).
Montour 70, Pine-Richland 53 — Ama Sow had 32 points and 22 rebounds in guiding Class 5A No. 1 Montour (15-1) past Pine-Richland (5-12) at the PBC Classic at North Allegheny.
Kaleb Platz and Colton Straight each had 12 points for the Spartans.
Emery Moye and Grant Spacciapolli had 12 points apiece for Pine-Richland.
Moon 57, Bethel Park 42 — At the PBC Classic at North Allegheny, Michael Santicola scored 21 points as Class 5A No. 5 Moon (14-4) defeated Bethel Park (6-11). Carter Tumulty had 17 points, and Amir Turner added 11 in the win.
Joseph Parisi had 11 points to lead the Black Hawks.
North Allegheny 45, Canon-McMillan 19 — Will Robertson had eight points to pace North Allegheny (7-10) to a win over Canon-McMillan (3-14) at the PBC Classic at North Allegheny.
Sewickley Academy 70, Sto-Rox 28 — Rob Southall had 16 points and Adam Ikamba added 13 as Class 2A No. 3 Sewickley Academy (14-2) rolled past Sto-Rox (2-14) at the PBC Classic at Rize Sports Complex.
