Abbey Laurent hit three homers and drove in seven runs to lead Pine-Richland to a 31-12 victory over Mt. Lebanon in a wild, Section 1-6A softball slugfest Wednesday.
Calle Henne, Iliana Aggelou, Marissa DeLuca and Mackenzie Gillis homered for the Rams (3-4, 2-2). Aggelou had seven RBIs, while DeLuca and Gillis plated five runs each.
Hannah Boomhower and Dani McClinchie each homered twice for Mt. Lebanon (1-6, 1-4). Olivia Park and Rebecca Davis also homered. There were 13 home runs hit in the game.
Apollo-Ridge 21, Ellis School 1 – Madison Butler went 3 for 3 with three triples, Malea Veneziani hit a double and triple and Cassidy Ryan tripled for Apollo-Ridge (2-2, 2-0) in a Section 2-2A win. Nadia Commodore singled for Ellis School (0-1, 0-1).
Armstrong 15, Gateway 0 – Rachael Ban threw a three-inning perfect game with five strikeouts, Jessica Pugh went 3 for 3 with two doubles and Shelby Cloak doubled to lead Armstrong (5-1, 2-1) past Gateway (0-5, 0-2) in a Section 2-5A win. Emma Paul and Isabel Prazenica drove in three runs apiece for the River Hawks.
Bentworth 11, Burgettstown 0 – Sydney Gonglik threw a five-inning perfect game with 12 strikeouts and hit a double and home run to lead Bentworth (5-2, 3-0) to a Section 3-2A win over Burgettstown (2-5, 1-2). Nora Lindley hit a double and home run and Willow Eckles, Jordyn Johnson and Zoie McDonald each doubled for the Bearcats.
Bethel Park 11, Peters Township 1 – Becky Gillenberger hit two doubles and Nicolette Antonucci hit a two-run homer to lead Bethel Park (4-4, 2-1) to a Section 4-5A win. Skylar Lemansky doubled for Peters Township (4-4, 1-1).
Burrell 3, Freeport 1 – Bella Stewart hit a home run and Pyper Ferres doubled to lead Burrell (5-2, 3-0) to a Section 1-3A win. Sydney Selker and Lauren Clark each doubled for Freeport (3-3, 0-2).
Canon-McMillan 21, Baldwin 3 – McKenna Severin hit a grand slam, Kiersten Williams hit a double and home run and Harley Tournay and Olivia Ford each doubled to lead Canon-McMillan (3-1, 3-1) to a Section 1-6A win. Melina Defelice hit a RBI single for Baldwin (1-5, 0-4).
Carmichaels 15, Avella 0 – Bailey Barnyak threw a four inning no-hitter, struck out 10 and went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead Carmichaels (5-1, 2-0) to a Section 2-A win over Avella (3-3, 0-2). Carys McConnell singled, homered and had five RBIs and Ali Jacobs doubled for the Mighty Mikes.
Central Valley 13, Hopewell 2 – London Banks went 5 for 5 with a double, two home runs and four RBIs and Isabela Skrlac homered for Central Valley (4-0, 2-0) in a Section 2-3A win. Kara Barkovich doubled for Hopewell (3-5, 0-2).
Chartiers-Houston 10, West Greene 0 – Meadow Ferri and Taryne Drilak each hit a home run for Chartiers-Houston (5-1, 3-0) in a Section 2-A win. Payton Gilbert hit a double for West Greene (2-3, 1-1).
Chartiers Valley 17, North Catholic 4 – Lily Duffill and Marta Gualazzi had a double, home run and two RBIs apiece and Delaney O’Connor, Kaitlyn Truong and Taylor Walsh each homered to lead Chartiers Valley (4-1, 2-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Samantha Foley hit a home run for North Catholic (4-1, 1-1).
Connellsville 1, Thomas Jefferson 0 – Cali Leichliter and Jaylee Moorhead hit a double apiece to lead Connellsville (5-3, 1-1) past Thomas Jefferson (3-3, 1-1) in a Section 4-5A win.
Deer Lakes 5, Avonworth 2 – Winning pitcher Maddie Kee struck out 14 and gave up only two hits to lead Deer Lakes (6-2, 3-0) to a Section 1-3A win. Layne Shinsky hit a two-run double for Avonworth (2-3, 0-1). Siena Plummer homered and Tia Germanich drove in two runs for the Lancers.
Elizabeth Forward 10, Albert Gallatin 0 – Shelby Telegdy struck out nine and went 3 for 3 with a double and home run and Addy Nigut, Berlyn Holibaugh, Carlee Soukup, Julia Resnik and Maddisyn Best each doubled for Elizabeth Forward (5-0, 3-0) in a Section 2-4A win over Albert Gallatin (2-2, 2-1).

Ava Walmsley, Heidi Stiger and Mia Dunleavy each hit a double for the Foxes.
Greensburg Central Catholic 18, Brentwood 3 – Macee Magill went 3 for 3 and Grace Kindel, Julianna Saxion and Makenzee Kenney hit a double apiece to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (1-1, 1-1) to a Section 2-2A win. Mia March went 2 for 2 with a double for Brentwood (1-4, 0-3).
Hampton 15, Montour 4 – Katelyn Dubee and Mackenzie Reese homered and Marissa Snyder doubled to lead Hampton (3-1, 2-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Shania Cope and Hailey Staub hit home runs for Montour (1-2, 1-2).
Indiana 6, McKeesport 3 – Winning pitcher Olivia Zimmerman struck out 11 and went 3 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs to lead Indiana (4-3, 2-0) to a Section 1-4A win. Haley Hamilton singled and doubled and Ella Myers tripled for Indiana. Ryenn Thomas had two hits and Kendal Bercik two RBIs for McKeesport (5-3, 1-2).
Jeannette 5, Leechburg 2 – Grace Stein struck out 17 and Abigail Shaw doubled to lead Jeannette (3-0, 2-0) to a Section 3-A win. Ava Richards singled for Leechburg (2-2, 1-1).
Jefferson-Morgan 16, California 6 – Kayla Larkin hit a double and home run and Emilee Bazzoli homered for Jefferson-Morgan (1-3, 1-1) in a Section 2-A win over California (0-6, 0-4).
Knoch 7, Highlands 0 – Brynne Smith collected two hits and an RBI, Alena Tekely drove in a run and Marlee Fraser was 2 for 4 with a double as Knoch (5-2, 3-0) shut out Highlands (0-5, 0-2) in Section 1-4A. Kaila Purcell got the win for the Knights.
Latrobe 8, Franklin Regional 2 – Kayla Williams struck out 14 and Madi Balko went 3 for 3 with two doubles to lead Latrobe (3-4, 2-1) to a Section 2-5A win. Toryn Fulton homered and C.C. Copeland doubled for Franklin Regional (3-5, 0-2).
Laurel Highlands 5, Ringgold 4 – Kayla Howell hit a double and Payton Rambo had two singles to lead Laurel Highlands (1-4, 1-3) to a Section 2-4A win. Addison Jenkins doubled for Ringgold (0-4, 0-2).
Ligonier Valley 5, South Allegheny 0 – Cheyenne Piper threw a four-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and went 3 for 3 with a double to lead Ligonier Valley (4-1, 1-1) in Section 3-3A. Natalie Bizup singled, doubled and drove in three runs and Marlee Miller had two hits and an RBI for the Rams. Cameran Colecchi doubled twice for South Allegheny (2-3, 0-1).
Mars 9, New Castle 3 – Gabrielle Rapport struck out 10, Mayson Kennedy doubled and Laura Craska tripled to lead Mars (3-6, 2-1) to a Section 3-5A win. Keara Mangieri homered and Jenalyn Nero doubled for New Castle (1-3, 0-3).
McGuffey 1, Brownsville 0 – Nicole Klages singled and scored on a Kaylee Ward sacrifice fly in the fourth inning as McGuffey (4-2, 1-1) bested Brownsville (2-3, 1-1) in a Section 4-3A pitchers’ duel. Winning pitcher McKenna Crothers gave up three hits and struck out six for the Highlanders. Ava Clark allowed four hits and fanned seven for the Falcons.
Mohawk 12, Quaker Valley 1 – Addy Moskal and Mylie Pistorius hit a triple apiece for Mohawk (6-1, 2-0) in a Section 2-3A win over Quaker Valley (2-3, 0-2).
Monessen 23, Springdale 8 – Joey Hurst went 4 for 5 with a double, triple and seven RBIs and Grace Clingenpeel hit an inside-the-park grand slam to lead Monessen (1-1, 1-0) to a Section 3-A win over Springdale (0-2, 0-2).
Mt. Pleasant 10, Derry 4 – Dani Trainer struck out 14 and allowed two hits in seven innings and Madyson Hart hit a grand slam to lead Mt. Pleasant (3-3, 1-1) to a Section 3-3A win. Alexa Darazio tripled for Derry (2-4, 0-1).
Neshannock 7, Shenango 0 – Abigail Measel hit a triple and Callie Biondi doubled for Neshannock (3-0, 2-0) in a Section 1-2A win. Emma Herb hit two singles for Shenango (1-4, 1-1). Winning pitcher Addy Frye struck out 13 and allowed three hits in seven innings.
North Allegheny 6, Norwin 5 – Julia Drazga hit a walk-off single in the seventh as North Allegheny (2-1, 2-1) edged out Norwin (3-4, 2-3) in Section 1-6A. Carlyn Vaupel smashed a home run and drove in three while Sammy Plotsko went 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Tigers. Josey Michalski hit a game-tying RBI single in the top of the seventh for the Knights. Michalski finished with three RBIs.
North Hills 8, Penn Hills 1 – Natalie Anzaldi went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead North Hills (5-2, 2-1) to a Section 1-5A win. Mackenzie Roskwitalski doubled for Penn Hills (2-2, 0-2).
OLSH 13, Fort Cherry 1 – Morgan O’Brien homered, Olivia DiGiacomo had three hits and two RBIs, Camryn Hummel tripled and Ava Ciummo doubled and had three RBIs to lead OLSH (4-2, 2-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Kaylee Weinbrenner went 2 for 3 with a double for Fort Cherry (0-4, 0-3).
Riverside 13, New Brighton 0 – Alessia Ferrigno, Charlie Bissell and Gracelyn Maltarski hit a double apiece for Riverside (2-1, 2-0) in a Section 1-2A win over New Brighton (1-4, 0-2).
Serra Catholic 14, Steel Valley 5 – Catherine Clarke and Cassidy Trahan hit a home run apiece and Johanna Domek doubled to lead Serra Catholic (3-1, 2-0) to a Section 2-2A win. Darwin Burns and Isabella Ruston doubled for Steel Valley (2-4, 1-1).

South Fayette 13, Moon 2 – Cam Valentino went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and five RBIs, Julia Munkittrick went 4 for 4 and Makenna Galish doubled and tripled to lead South Fayette (4-1, 2-1) to a Section 3-5A win. Sydney Ray went 3 for 3 with a triple and Kendall Trexler doubled for Moon (1-5, 1-1).

South Side 20, Rochester 2 – Maya Ringhoff and Karis Dunham each homered for South Side (3-2, 2-0) in a Section 1-A win. Emily Weese hit a double for Rochester (2-2, 1-1).
Trinity 5, Upper St. Clair 1 – Alexa Zawacki hit a home run, Ally Krenzelak tripled and Remmie Seitz doubled to lead Trinity (5-2, 1-1) to a Section 4-5A win. Brooklyn Kemp hit a double for Upper St. Clair (3-5, 1-2).
Union 16, Cornell 0; Union 18, Cornell 2 – Union (4-0, 3-0) swept Cornell (0-4, 0-3) in Section 1-A. In the first game, Mia Preuhs threw a three-inning no hitter with nine strikeouts and Irelyn Fisher went 3 for 3 with three triples and five RBIs for the Scotties. In the second game, Union’s Olivia Benedict had a double, two homers and seven RBIs. Kathleen Wegley doubled and drove in a pair for Cornell.
Uniontown 5, Greensburg Salem 4 – Di’Saya Craggette singled and scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth to give Uniontown (2-2, 2-1) the Section 2-4A win. Ava Livingood went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for the Red Raiders. Alle Scarpa was 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double and three RBIs for Greensburg Salem (2-5, 0-2).
West Mifflin 15, Woodland Hills – Rylie Dobnak threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 2 for 2 with two doubles and five RBIs to lead West Mifflin (4-4, 1-2) to a Section 1-4A win over Woodland Hills (0-1, 0-1). Mia Bey hit a double and home run and Kaleigh Tatters tripled for the Titans.

Armstrong 11, Penn Hills 1 – Winning pitcher Brayden Wright drove in four runs and Rory Pschirer was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Armstrong (3-4, 2-4) in a Section 1-5A rout of Penn Hills (0-6, 0-6). Isaiah Mitchell and Philmore Austin each doubled for the Indians.
Avella 7, Jefferson-Morgan 3 – Winning pitcher Bryce Wright and Brian Martos each collected two hits and two RBIs while Charles Rush went 3 for 3 with an RBI to lead Avella (5-0, 4-0) to a Section 1-A win. Brayden Ellsworth had two hits for Jefferson-Morgan (2-4, 0-4).
Belle Vernon 9, Uniontown 4 – Adam LaCarte hit two home runs and drove in five runs while Cole Matusik and Max Kostelnick each doubled and drove in a run for Belle Vernon (5-1, 2-0) in a Section 2-4A win. Auston Grego knocked in two runs for Uniontown (1-4, 0-2). Alex Nash got the win for the Leopards.
Burrell 7, Freeport 2 – Isaac Lacinski singled twice, drove in two runs and was the winning pitcher for Burrell (3-4, 3-3) in a Section 3-3A win. Brayden Mell singled and drove in two runs and Trey Coury doubled for the Bucs. Michael Hanz and Ryan Claypool singled for Freeport (1-5, 1-4).
Canon-McMillan 15, Norwin 0 – Will Taczak went 3 for 3 with four RBIs, Nico Patragas doubled twice and knocked in a run, Alexander Shank doubled and had two RBIs, and Massimo Falconi brought home two as Canon-McMillan (3-4, 3-2) shut out Norwin (4-4, 2-2) in Section 2-6A.
Connellsville 4, Trinity 0 – Kace Shearer went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI while Logan Lowery picked up the win for Connellsville (4-5, 2-2) over Trinity (3-3, 2-2) in Section 2-5A
East Allegheny 2, Deer Lakes 1 – Michael Cahill threw a no-hitter with a dozen strikeouts and doubled and scored the game-tying run in the sixth inning to lead East Allegheny (5-0, 2-0) past Deer Lakes (2-5, 0-5) in Section 3-3A. Ryan Kirk hit a walk-off double for the Wildcats.
Eden Christian 11, Bishop Canevin 1 – Brady Hull doubled twice and brought home a pair of runs and Noah Emswiler belted a solo home run as Eden Christian (7-1, 6-0) rolled to a Section 3-A win. Kyle Olszewski doubled for Bishop Canevin (2-2, 2-2). Caleb Emswiler got the win for the Warriors.
Greensburg Salem 4, Mt. Pleasant 3 – Dom Rosensteel had two hits and an RBI and Ayden Crissman pitched 4⅔ scoreless innings to lead Greensburg Salem (4-3, 3-2) to a Section 4-3A win. Tyler Martin also collected two hits for the Golden Lions. Brady Painter doubled and Connor Drzal had two hits and an RBI for Mt. Pleasant (4-4, 2-1).
Hempfield 9, Baldwin 2 – Adam Hess went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs, Carson Shuglie hit a solo home run, and Colin Polechko drove in two for Hempfield (9-0, 5-0) in a Section 2-6A win. Trey Alario doubled and drove in a run for Baldwin (1-7, 0-4). Parker Donsen got the win for the Spartans.
Jeannette 11, Brentwood 3 – Nick Rattigan and Noah Sunder each doubled and drove in two runs while Jayden Kennedy and Kenny Himes knocked in a pair of runs apiece to lead Jeannette (4-1, 2-0) to a Section 3-2A win over Brentwood (1-4, 0-4). Evan Yargeau got the win for the Jayhawks.
Keystone Oaks 15, Sto-Rox 0 – Winning pitcher Nathan Rohe smacked a two-run double and Roman Keaney also doubled in a run to lead Keystone Oaks (4-3, 4-0) to a Section 2-3A win. Mason Quarles went 1 for 2 for Sto-Rox (0-2, 0-2).
Kiski Area 4, Hampton 3 – Blake Fritz doubled and drove in a pair and Dimitri Spagnola went 2 for 3 as Kiski Area (4-2, 1-1) held on to beat Hampton (4-2, 2-2) in Section 4-4A. Parker Brockway drove in a run and Brady Smith doubled for the Talbots. Austin Bachar earned the win for the Cavaliers.
Ligonier Valley 11, Apollo-Ridge 0 – Winning pitcher Tyler Smith drove in three runs while Duncan Foust, Parker Zinkham and Leo Bazala each brought home a pair of runs as Ligonier Valley (3-3, 2-2) blanked Apollo-Ridge (0-6, 0-5) in Section 3-2A. Brayden Myers went 2 for 2 for the Vikings.
Mars 9, North Hills 2 – Jacob Maple doubled twice and drove in three runs while Charles Bickel, Finn Seideneck, Shane Klinefelter and Vinny Gottschalk each doubled and knocked in a run for Mars (4-2, 2-2) in a Section 3-5A victory. Tristan Weimann drove in both runs for North Hills (5-2-1, 3-1).
North Catholic 10, Highlands 0 – Caden Williams pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and Blake Primrose belted a three-run homer to lead North Catholic (3-2, 3-1) past Highlands (1-7, 0-3) in Section 4-4A.

Quaker Valley 12, Beaver Falls 3 – Todd Kagle went 2 or 2 with a double and Gavin Fallgren drove in three as Quaker Valley (3-4, 2-3) defeated Beaver Falls (0-4, 0-4) in Section 1-3A. Mark Veon was 2 for 3 for the Tigers.
River Valley 9, Leechburg 7 – Gavin Burkhart hit a two-run homer and Caden Vresilovic doubled and drove in a run to lead River Valley to a nonsection win over Leechburg (2-4). Chase Henry drove in a run as Jake Cummings and Mason Bertino doubled for the Blue Devils.
Rochester 3, St. Joseph 2 – Logan Lyons hit a two-run double and winning pitcher Justin Schurr made sure three first-inning runs held up for Rochester (1-4, 1-3) in a Section 2-A win. Elliott Szalla doubled and drove in a run and Noah Cooper knocked in a run for St. Joseph (1-3, 1-1).
Serra Catholic 10, Riverview 0 – Zach Black doubled and drove in three runs and Jake Holmes went 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs in a Section 3-2A shutout win for Serra Catholic (7-0, 4-0). Jack Loughren and Miles Duncan each had a hit for Riverview (5-2, 3-2). Winning pitcher Isiah Petty doubled and drove in a run for the Eagles.

South Fayette 4, Bethel Park 1 – Tyler Schepis hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 11th inning to spur South Fayette (2-1, 1-1) to a Section 2-5A win. Schepis also doubled while Adam Caye and Brayden Harris each had two hits for the Lions. Kaden Flambard doubled and Ryan Petras went 2 for 5 for Bethel Park (4-3-1, 3-1).
Southmoreland 13, Brownsville 10 – Ty Campbell drove in three runs, Jake Govern doubled twice and knocked in a pair of runs, Cole Teets went 4 for 5 with two RBIs, and David Billheimer doubled twice and brought home a run as Southmoreland (2-4, 2-2) survived a late rally by Brownsville (0-4, 0-4) for a Section 4-3A win. Hunter Pelehac, Rylan Johnson and Ben Vojacek each had two RBIs for the Falcons.
South Park 4, Avonworth 1 – Zach Ludwig went 3 for 3 with a run scored and Cooper Hochendonor struck out nine in 4 ⅔ innings to lead South Park (3-3, 1-1) to a Section 2-3A win. John Dolan doubled and drove in a run for Avonworth (5-4, 1-1).
Thomas Jefferson 2, Chartiers Valley 1 – Alec Warden and Elias Lippincott each drove in a run and Dominic Metz got the win for Thomas Jefferson (9-0, 3-0) in a Section 3-4A contest. Colton Prosperi had a hit for Chartiers Valley (2-2, 0-2).
Valley 1, Shady Side Academy 0 – Alex Vagnier singled in the winning run as Valley (5-2, 3-1) walked it off against Shady Side (4-2, 4-2) in Section 3-3A. Dom Dunkel struck out nine for the Vikings. Jonah Sackrowitz and Josh Valinsky each doubled for the Bulldogs.
Waynesburg 7, Yough 1 – Derek Turcheck and Ethan Kiger each drove in two runs while winning pitcher Trenton Zupper went 3 for 3 with an RBI and Austin Surber doubled and drove in a run for Waynesburg (4-0, 3-0) in a Section 4-3A win. Landon O’Donnell had a hit for Yough (2-5, 2-2).
West Allegheny 2, Moon 1 – Brady Miller doubled and drove in a run while winning pitcher Brandon Boyce fanned nine for West Allegheny (5-1, 3-1) in a Section 3-5A win over Moon (3-5, 1-3).
West Greene 10, Mapletown 0 – Darren Knight struck out eight while allowing just one hit in five innings. Johnny Lampe had three hits and Hayden Hamilton and Kam Tedrow each smacked doubles for West Greene (2-2, 2-2) in a Section 1-A win over Mapletown (1-6, 0-4).
West Mifflin 16, McKeesport 0 – Jacob Cannon doubled and brought home five runs, Zane Griffaton finished with two RBIs and smacked a double and Braeden Andzelik drove in three runs to lead West Mifflin (8-1, 4-0) to a Section 3-4A shutout win over McKeesport (0-6, 0-3).
Girls lacrosse
Blackhawk 22, Aquinas Academy 4 – Mia Piocquidio scored six goals to surpass the 200-goal mark for her career in a Section 1-2A win for Blackhawk. Chloe Huston, Andrea Kinger, Ava Pagani and Lauren Fair added a hat trick each for the Cougars.
Fox Chapel 20, Freeport 6 – Kennedy Murton scored four goals, Caroline Grimsley and Meg Dleaney each scored three goals and had two assists and Annie Mohn and Caroline Leland each recorded a hat trick and had an assist as Fox Chapel (6-1, 4-0) routed Freeport (0-4, 0-4) in Section 2-3A.
Ellis School 10, Yough 5 – Jordan Evans scored five goals to propel Ellis School past Yough in Section 1-2A.
Latrobe 11, Greensburg Central Catholic 4 – Bridget McHugh scored four goals and Ryanne Lehman added a pair to lead Latrobe (2-5, 2-3) to a Section 1-2A win.
Quaker Valley 13, North Catholic 5 – Lucy Roig had four goals for Quaker Valley in a Section 2-2A win over North Catholic. Alexa Westwood, Mia Floro, Lily Millet and Sydney Hewitt added a pair of goals apiece for the Quakers.
