Herald spotlight athlete: Fox Chapel’s Eli Yofan

Eli Yofan, a sophomore at Fox Chapel, is one of the main reasons the Foxes opened the boys basketball season with a 5-0 record. The 6-foot-2 guard averages 16 points, and he also plays soccer and volleyball. Here’s a closer look at this week’s Spotlight Athlete:
Who is your favorite NBA player?
Kobe Bryant.
What is your favorite TV show?
“Friends.”
What are your thoughts on reality TV shows?
I never really got into them. I think they’re fake.
How old were you when you became interested in basketball?
I’ve been playing since I was around 7.
What would you say the strongest part of your game is?
Driving and finishing.
What three words would describe you?
Friendly, hard-working and trustworthy.
Who is your favorite Pittsburgh athlete?
Hines Ward.
How late do you sleep when there’s no school?
11:30 a.m. or so.
What’s your favorite subject in school?
Math.
What movie could you watch over and over?
“Pulp Fiction.”
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Bethany Beach, Delaware. My family goes there every summer.
If you could go somewhere you’ve never been before, where would you go?
An island in the Carribean.
What’s your favorite fast food joint?
Chick-Fil-A.
What would make up your favorite all-time meal?
A steak, a baked potato, broccoli and chocolate ice cream.
