Herald spotlight athlete: Adrian Beckford, Shady Side Academy

Adrian Beckford, a junior on the Shady Side Academy swim team, had a big night against Hampton last week as he was part of the winning 200 medley relay, 400 freestyle relay and 200 free relay, and he also won the 50 free. In the next meet against Springdale, he was a part of the winning 200 free relay team.

What sport would you be playing if not swimming?
Soccer.
Do you have any superstitions or rituals before a meet?
I just stretch and listen to music.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Athletic, determined and adventurous.

Italy.

Lasagna, Caesar salad and carrots with ranch dressing.
If you could go somewhere you've never been before, where would you go?
Australia.

“Hawaii 5-0.”

What junk food do you have a weakness for?
Popcorn, definitely.
