Final WPVCA boys rankings released

The final Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association boys WPIAL rankings were released Monday, and North Allegheny and Ambridge remained in the top spots of the final poll voted on by the 40 WPIAL head coaches.
In Class AAA, the Tigers continue to lead the way, followed in order by Bethel Park, Butler, Penn-Trafford, Norwin, Hempfield, Seneca Valley, Latrobe, Shaler and Baldwin.
Canon-McMillan also received coaches votes.
As Ambridge owns the top spot in Class AA, Deer Lakes checks in at No. 2, followed by Derry, Seton LaSalle, Montour, Beaver County Christian, Trinity, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic, Bishop Canevin and Keystone Oaks.
Thomas Jefferson also received votes.
The Class AAA Players of the Week are Hempfield junior outside hitter Will Kuhns, Seneca Valley senior libero Stone Eckinrode and Latrobe junior outside hitter Alex Ryan.
The Players of the Week for Class AA are Ambridge senior middle hitter Devin Dishong, Seton LaSalle sophomore outside hitter Alex Shaughnessy and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic senior middle hitter Mike Drambel.
The WPIAL is to release the pairings for both Class AAA and AA tournaments next Monday and begin playoff action as soon as the next day.
