Here is the FINAL playoff picture for WPIAL Boys Basketball after Friday’s games. 77 boys basketball teams are set for the four postseason tournaments that begin next weekend.
Class AAAA: (SET WITH 16 TEAMS)
Section 1: Hempfield (champ), Kiski Area, Norwin and Latrobe are all in.
Section 2: Plum (champ), Franklin Regional, Gateway and Fox Chapel are all in.
Section 3: New Castle (champ), Hampton, North Allegheny and Seneca Valley are all in.
Section 4: Upper St. Clair (champ), Bethel Park, Mount Lebanon and Peters Township are all in.
Class AAA: (SET WITH 21 TEAMS)
Section 1: Mars (tri-champ), Indiana (tri-champ), Knoch (tri-champ) and Kittanning are all in.
Section 2: Central Valley (champ), Blackhawk, Ambridge and West Allegheny are all in.
Section 3: Uniontown (champ), Mount Pleasant, Laurel Highlands and Greensburg-Salem are all in.
Section 4: Thomas Jefferson (champ), Elizabeth Forward, Steel Valley and West Mifflin are all in.
Section 5: Chartiers Valley (champ), Montour, South Fayette, Keystone Oaks and South Park.
Class AA: (SET WITH 24 TEAMS)
Section 1: Summit Academy (champ), Apollo-Ridge, West Shamokin and Burrell are all in.
Section 2: Aliquippa (champ), Beaver Falls, Neshannock and Laurel are all in.
Section 3: Greensburg Central Catholic (champ), South Allegheny, Shady Side Academy and Jeannette are all in.
Section 4: Seton-LaSalle (champ), Washington, Chartiers-Houston and Brentwood are all in.
Section 5: Brownsville (champ), Frazier, Charleroi and California are all in.
Section 6: Avonworth (champ), Quaker Valley, Sto-Rox and Northgate are all in.
Class A: (SET WITH 16 TEAMS)
Section 1: Lincoln Park (champ), Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Western Beaver and Union are all in.
Section 2: Vincentian Academy (champ), Sewickley Academy, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic and Eden Christian are all in.
Section 3: Monessen (champ), Carmichaels, Clairton and Mapletown are all in.
Section 4: Wilkinsburg (champ), St. Joseph, Winchester-Thurston and Trinity Christian are all in. Imani Christian is not eligible for the WPIAL playoffs.
