Players to watch: Marrek Paola, 6-6, Jr., C, Ligonier Valley; Logan Snyder, 6-1, So., G, Penns Valley

Layup lines: Ligonier Valley enters the playoffs on a 12-game winning streak and on the heels of winning the Heritage Conference championship game 78-65 over Purchase Line on Feb. 9. Paola averages a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Michael Marinchak (18.6 ppg.) and senior Andrew Pleskovitch (10.6) also average in double figures. Ligonier Valley last made the District 6 title game in 1987. … Penns Valley went 2-3 in its last five games with wins over St. Joseph's Catholic Academy and Williamsburg. Penns Valley averages 41 points, compared to Ligonier Valley's 71. Penns Valley scored more than 50 points only five times all season. Both teams' mascot is a ram.
