Less than two weeks remain in the WPIAL boys volleyball regular season, and some teams are jockeying for playoff positioning, while others continue to battle to stay alive in the playoff chase.

The Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association, with votes from all 39 head coaches, released its latest Class AAA and AA polls Monday.

In Class AAA, North Allegheny keeps its grip on No. 1, and Bethel Park stays at No. 2.

Latrobe and Shaler trade places, as the Wildcats are No. 3 this week, and the Titans are No. 4.

Hempfield stays at No. 5, Norwin ticks up one spot to No. 6. Seneca Valley falls to No. 7, and Penn-Trafford and Canon-McMillan remain at No. 8 and No. 9, respectively.

Peters Township moves into the poll at No. 10, replacing Upper St. Clair.

Four teams — USC, Pine-Richland, Armstrong and Butler — received votes this week.

Things remain status quo in Class AA. No team in the top 10 moved up or down or fell out of the survey.

Derry stayed at No. 1, followed by Seton LaSalle, Ambridge, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Beaver County Christian in the top 5.

The rest of the top 10, in order, has Obama Academy, Bishop Canevin, North Catholic, Thomas Jefferson and Deer Lakes.

Trinity received votes this week.

The Players of the Week for Class AAA are North Allegheny senior libero Trevor Tresser, Latrobe senior outside hitter Alex Ryan, Penn-Trafford senior setter Adam Grove and Armstrong senior outside hitter Michael Cornman.

Those players recognized in Class AA are Ambridge senior setter Dorien Priddy, Thomas Jefferson senior setter Riley Hovan, Montour junior outside hitter Nathan Donahue and Deer Lakes sophomore outside hitter Devin Reiher.
