The Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association released its latest boys team rankings Monday, and two squads in Class AAA moved into the top 10.
Canon-McMillan and Upper St. Clair are slotted at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. They replaced Pine-Richland and Armstrong.
The rest of the Class AAA list remains the same with North Allegheny in the top spot, followed by Bethel Park, Shaler, Latrobe, Hempfield, Seneca Valley, Norwin and Penn-Trafford.
There is no change to the top 10 in Class AA as Derry holds on to No. 1 for the fourth week in a row.
Seton LaSalle again is at No. 2, Ambridge is at No. 3, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is No. 4, and Beaver County Christian is at No. 5.
The remainder of the top 10 has Obama Academy at No. 6, followed by Bishop Canevin, North Catholic, Thomas Jefferson and Deer Lakes.
Section matches in both classifications conclude May 9.
The WPVCA Players of the Week for Class AAA, as selected based on nominations from the WPIAL head coaches, are Pine-Richland junior libero Blake Todorowsi, Upper St. Clair junior outside hitter RJ White and Bethel Park junior middle hitter Tyler Simpson.
In Class AA, weekly recognition went to Beaver County Christian senior setter Jimmy McChesney, OLSH junior outside hitter Jake Horigan and Seton LaSalle senior outside hitter Chris Sigg.
