Most of the 30 teams in the inaugural Trib HSSN state softball rankings from last week found their journey to this week’s top five to be smooth sailing.
High school roundup: Zack Karp throws 9 no-hit innings for Serra Catholic
Zack Karp went nine innings and Max Rocco pitched the 10th as Serra Catholic threw a 10-inning no-hitter in Section 3-2A baseball Tuesday, defeating Shady Side Academy, 5-1.
High school roundup for April 11, 2022: Mt. Lebanon baseball earns key section win

David Shields hit a two-run triple in the sixth inning and Mt. Lebanon held off Norwin for a 6-4 win in a matchup of top teams in Section 2-6A baseball Monday.

A-K Valley HOF inductee Haney was coach of year in 2006
When Dianne Haney stepped down as Kiski Area softball coach in 2014, she had completed 22 years at the helm of the Cavaliers and helped the program to 248 victories, 12 section championships, 15 playoff appearances, four undefeated regular seasons and a 1995 WPIAL runner-up finish.
