Extra bases: Both teams are seeking their first WPIAL title. Brownsville upset top-seeded and two-time defending champion Riverside, 6-5, in the semifinals to make its first title game appearance since 1999. The Falcons beat Valley, 6-5, in the quarterfinals. … The Falcons fell 7-5 against Waynesburg in the '99 final. … Avonworth cruised to a 13-2 win in six innings over South Side in the semifinals and beat Shady Side Academy, 8-6, in the quarterfinals. … Grau has been the Antelopes' top hitter and pitcher all season. He is part of a young lineup that starts only three seniors. He is 5-1 with 56 strikeouts in 38 13 innings pitched and has a .431 batting average. Felter and Jalliet had three hits apiece in the semifinal win. Felter homered and Jalliet doubled twice. … Dellarose has a .429 batting average and Bagwell is hitting .373. Brosky has 1.32 ERA with 78 strikeouts to seven walks in 47 23 innings pitched. He also has hit both of the team's home runs. Dellarose, Bagwell and Zimcosky had two hits apiece in the South Side win.
