Bishop Canevin’s Shamyjha Price adds first D1 basketball offer

Bishop Canevin’s Shamyjha Price, who won her third consecutive WPIAL basketball title last season, announced her first Division 1 offer Monday from UMass Lowell.
The 5-foot-9 guard will be a senior this fall.
Price averaged 14.6 points last season when Bishop Canevin went 24-5, won the WPIAL Class 3A title and finished as the state runner-up.
UMass Lowell competes in the America East Conference.
Price’s father Kevin was a three-time WPIAL champion at Duquesne High School in the 1990s, and ranks as the second-leading scorer in WPIAL history with 2,635 points. He play college basketball for Duquesne University.
