Apollo-Ridge is bringing back a familiar face to lead its boys basketball program again.

The district recently voted to hire Greg Fox, who previously coached the Vikings for 13 seasons.

A former Apollo-Ridge player who scored more than 1,300 career points in the late 1980s, Fox led his alma mater to a 110-165 record from 1996-2009, including a playoff appearance in 2005. He resigned to spend more time with his family.

Fox replaces Damon Andring, who spent the past two seasons as coach and compiled an 8-32 record, including 5-15 in 2017-18. The Vikings last made the WPIAL playoffs in 2015.
