College football teams from the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 are among the eight favorites to land Aliquippa running back Tiqwai Hayes.

The junior on Tuesday announced a top eight recruiting list that included Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia, along with Cincinnati, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. Hayes had 17 offers. Not making the cut were Central Michigan, UConn, Louisville, Marshall, UMass, Ohio, Syracuse, Toledo and UNLV.

Recruiting website Rivals.com rates Hayes (6 foot, 198 pounds) as a four-star prospect and ranked him 20th nationally among running back recruits in the 2025 class.

Hayes had a strong start to his junior year when he rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns in Friday’s 37-19 win over Armstrong. He has already earned all-state honors twice after rushing for 3,727 yards and 56 touchdowns in the past two seasons combined.

Rivals ranked him as Pennsylvania’s fifth-best prospect in the junior class.
